Fixed-term Parental Leave Cover

Rose Ring Kindergartens are seeking a warm, collaborative and enthusiastic qualified ECE kaiako to join our teaching team for a six-month fixed-term maternity leave position, with the possibility of extension.

Sitting on the Tauranga Waldorf School campus in Welcome Bay, Tauranga, Rose Ring brings together Te Whāriki and Waldorf/Steiner education, with an emphasis on relationships, rhythm, imaginative play, creativity, practical activity and connection with the natural world.

Children experience a warm, home-like kindergarten environment alongside regular opportunities for outdoor and nature-based learning. Daily and weekly rhythms include creative play, singing and movement, storytelling, baking, painting, drawing, seasonal crafts and meaningful practical work.

About the role

You will join an experienced and supportive kindergarten team, working collaboratively to provide a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment for tamariki.

We are looking for a kaiako who:

·    is a qualified and registered teacher,  or eligible for registration, with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand

·    is warm, reliable and able to work collaboratively within a teaching team

·    values strong relationships with tamariki, whānau and colleagues

·    is committed to reflective practice and ongoing professional learning

·    has an interest in Waldorf/Steiner education and is willing to continue developing their understanding of this approach

·    enjoys creative, practical and nature-based early childhood education

Previous experience in Waldorf/Steiner education would be an advantage, but is not essential. Support and guidance will be available for a teacher who feels drawn to developing their practice within Waldorf education.
