Study for a Doctor of Education at AUT

AUT's Doctor of Education (EdD) is currently taking applications, and it may be of interest to Steiner teachers and leaders in our network considering further study, whether for professional development, career progression, or to develop and share a significant area of educational practice.

The EdD is offered in Format 3, a practice-led doctorate. Rather than the traditional thesis-only pathway, it brings together a substantial creative or practice-oriented artefact with a scholarly exegesis. This could suit anyone wanting to develop a curriculum initiative, pedagogical project, professional-learning programme, arts-based creative work, digital resource, community-based project, or another substantial practice-based contribution to education.

Dr Neil Boland, one of the leaders of the programme, specifically welcomes topics related to Steiner education.

The programme is part-taught, part independent study, and cohort based, so you become part of a supportive group of fellow students. It can also be studied online.

If this pathway might suit your next step, Neil is happy to have an informal conversation. You can reach him at neil.boland@aut.ac.nz.

More information, including application details, is available on the AUT website.
