Teacher Vacancy - Titirangi

High School – Mathematics and Physics Teacher

Titirangi Rudolf Steiner School is seeking an experienced and creative high school mathematics and physics teacher with an interest in Steiner/Waldorf education to teach in the Middle and Upper School, commencing at the start of Term 1 2027 (or earlier by arrangement).

This is an opportunity to take a significant role in a small, close-knit Steiner school, with responsibility for the mathematics programme across the Upper School and the majority of mathematics teaching (includes Statistics and Calculus). Ideally, the successful applicant will also be able to teach some of the Physics programme, or other subjects across the Middle and Upper School — please indicate any additional subjects you are qualified and willing to teach in your application.

The ideal applicant will demonstrate a high level of expertise in meeting the needs of a diverse range of learners. They will be skilled in building strong, respectful, and trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and whānau. The successful candidate will foster a genuine love of learning in young people, cultivate a positive and healthy social dynamic within the class, and provide thoughtful pastoral care and guidance for students.

They will bring an authentic commitment to an experiential approach to teaching and learning, a distinctive feature of our curriculum. Through hands-on, inquiry-based, and real-world experiences, they will engage students deeply, nurturing curiosity, creativity, and a sense of purpose in their learning.

Titirangi Rudolf Steiner School is seeking candidates who are interested in a full-time, permanent position and are able to make a long-term commitment to the school. We seek experienced Steiner / Waldorf teachers – or teachers eager to learn – to deepen the knowledge of our body of teachers and to contribute to the development of Steiner education in an independent environment.

The teacher must have, or be able to obtain, a current practising certificate or Limited Authority to Teach issued by the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Titirangi Rudolf Steiner School is an independent Steiner school offering education from playgroup to high school with a roll of around 250 students from Nursery through to Class 12 (Year 13).

The school is located in Auckland’s Waitākere Ranges on 29 hectares of native bush bordering the Manukau Harbour. It is a safe, peaceful, and natural learning haven only minutes from vibrant Titirangi village and 30 minutes from downtown Auckland.

Early applications are encouraged.
