Kindergarten by the sea seeking an ECE Teacher

Kuaotunu Kindergarten on the Coromandel are seeking a qualified early childhood teacher with a passion for Steiner/Waldorf education to join our small, nurturing kindergarten community in a beautiful seaside location.

About us:

Our purpose-built kindergarten is licensed for 20 children aged 3 to 6 years. Set on the edge of the ocean, our light-filled space overlooks the bay and provides an inspiring environment for both children and educators. Our daily rhythm is enriched by regular excursions to the nearby beach and surrounding bushland, offering children a deep connection to nature and the seasonal rhythms of the year.

The role:

This is a job-share position with shared management and administrative responsibilities. For the right candidate, we offer flexibility in hours — this role can be part-time or full-time depending on your circumstances and our mutual needs.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified ECE teacher 

• Preferable experience or training in Steiner/Waldorf early childhood education, but not essential

• Values warmth, rhythm, and reverence in working with young children

• A commitment to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti O Waitangi. With an appreciation of te reo and tikanga Māori.

• Is confident in working collaboratively within a small teaching team

• Brings enthusiasm for outdoor, nature-based learning

• Has excellent communication and administrative skills

• Is committed to ongoing personal and professional development
